BROADWAY CREW CELEBRATES FIRST YEAR WITH ANNIVERSARY PARTY FEATURING THE NEON COVEN!
NEW YORK CITY - August 8, 2019 - Broadway Crew celebrated its first year in business with an anniversary party on Monday, August 5. The Neon Coven, the creators of the Brooklyn-based immersive musical OSCAR at The Crown, performed six songs throughout the night to celebrate the event.
Founded by Sam Clark and Jackson Thompson, Broadway Crew incorporated in March 22, 2018. Just months later, the street promotions team started working in the field for the first time, promoting My Life on a Diet at NYC Pride in June 2018.
Broadway Crew began promoting shows at the TKTS booth in Times Square with the intent of being Broadway’s only street team specializing in driving sales through an employee-first, team-focused sales method. Over the last year, Broadway Crew has amassed a much larger list of services including brand ambassadors, event flyering and promotion, graphic and web design, social media management, flyer drops, post-show swag distribution, city-wide flyer efforts, hotel concierge outreach programs, and event management.
Broadway Crew currently works with Mean Girls, King Kong, Puffs, The Imbible, Life Sucks, #DateMe, OSCAR at the Crown, Frankenstein and the upcoming The Pink Unicorn, starring Alice Ripley. Past clients include Tony Award-winning The Ferryman, Anastasia, Cirque du Soleil’s Luzia, Straight White Men and safeword. The street team has also worked with Beetlejuice, Pretty Woman, Tootsie and Jagged Little Pill and more on select projects and events.
Clients outside of the theatre industry include Times Square Alliance, SuperReal, Pip’s Island, Cinch, True North Training and the Underground Donut Tour.
The Neon Coven is a queer theatre collective in the city. Their current piece, OSCAR at The Crown, is showing at Three Dollar Bill in Brooklyn. The group had two sets. The first set included three new works that were still in development. The second set included three three songs from OSCAR at the Crown including “Julie” and “Glimmer of Light.”
